This book is a mystery wrapped in a riddle squished in a box. I got this book excited about all the comparisons made to the hit maker Pretty Little Liars. I was really excited for this book, but then I read it. There are some good this and pretty bad things about this book.

First of all, there are going to be a few more of them so there is room for redemption, so that is one thing going for it, but that is about it. Secondly, there is a lot going on in this book and I don’t mean like three or four story lines going at once, but 6 of them I think in total that are going on at the exact same time. Because of this the book gets not only boring, but so repetitive, it feels like you are reading the same thing over and over again. And lastly, the writing is fantastic. Alyson Noel really knows how to write and how to write well enough to make you think you are the one causing the trouble.

Overall this book is okay, with the chance of being incredible. I think it was too slow to start off with, to repetitive and too much happening to really let the story live a great life. The story is about a group of people trying to get somewhere in their lives that isn’t working for them anymore, but that is lost in the angst of the book. By the end of the book all you want to know is when the bad thing is going to happen and why it hasn’t happened yet.

I’m waiting eagerly for the next one only because I want to know what is going to happen and hope that the next book is better.

If you are looking for a coming of age, trying to get in the world of work, life is a teenage struggle kind of story than this is the book for you.
