Book Review – The One

The One / Kiera Cass / Harper Teen / 2014 / ISBN 9780007466719 / 323 Pages / Young Adult

the one

When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown – or to Prince Maxon’s heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lost – and how hard she’ll have to fight for the future she wants.

Book three of The Selection series, The One is the final story of America and Prince Maxon. If you like the other two, let’s face it, you are going to love this one just as much. There is a lot that happens in this book and a lot of the issues that start at the beginning of the whole saga are resolved. I think that is the main thing I like about this book, that it does resolve a lot of the story lines that are created and because of that, the book, the series, the story that is trying to be told is resolute and whole and doesn’t make you turn and around and say ‘but what about?’. Keira Cass has an exceptional talent in drawing people in and keeping them drawn to the book series even after two or three books and that is all thanks to her wonderful writing that is so easy to read and so connectable to the audience reading it. I read this book just like the others in the series in a mere handful of days.

Check out my previous reviews on The Elite and The Selection.

I give this book 3.9 out of 5 booky stars!

Stick around…
