Book Blurb –

Kate Harker and August Flynn are the heirs to a divided city, a grisly metropolis where the violence has begun to create real and deadly monsters. All Kate wants is to be as ruthless as her father, who lets the monsters roam free and makes the inhabitants pay for his protection. August just wants to be human, as good-hearted as his own father – but his curse is to be what the humans fear. The thin truce that keeps the Harker’s and Flynn families at peace is crumbling, and an assassination attempt forces Kate and August into a tenuous alliance. But how long will they survive in a city where no one is safe and monsters are real… Continue reading “Book Review – This Savage Song”

September 2017 Wrap Up

September has been a bit of a wish wash kind of month. I had planned on reading a lot, but I never seemed to be able to get around to it. Other than a tonne of reading for work, I have managed to read 3 books this month. One of them being a 600+page book. And I only put down one of them. So, September has been a bit of a slow month for me. I haven’t even brought one book this month! Talk about restrictions. Hopefully with my birthday next month, I will be getting some enjoyable books to enjoy and read. Continue reading “September 2017 Wrap Up”

DOable TBR Pile 2017 MARCH

Yesterday I posted my February 2017 Wrap up post, if you scroll down just a little bit you can find it.

My Doable TBR pile consists of books I have picked that I want to read this month. In saying that I read almost all the 4 books I had on my February TBR pile. Yay Me!

Here is my Doable TBR Pile February that I posted last month:

  • The Witch’s Tears by Elizabeth and Katharine Corr
  • Valentine by Jodi McAlister*
  • The Impossible Story of Olive in Love by Tonya Alexandra
  • Hannah’s Gift by Maria Housden

A * means that I have started the book and have yet to finish it.

A strikethrough means that I HAVE read it.

How great is that, I read three of the books on my Doable TBR Pile and then some of the books I had brought in Melbourne.

Now here is my Doable TBR Pile for March:

  • Akarnae by Lynette Noni
  • It’s Not Me, It’s You by Stephanie Kate Strohm
  • The Man Who Invented Vegemite by Jamie Callister
  • Paper Hearts and Summer Kisses by Carole Matthews

I think I am going to get through these books and cross them off this time next month. I have two young adult books, one fantasy and one contemporary, one adult fiction and a biography to get me through the month. I’ve almost finished all the books I brought in Melbourne.

So here goes…

DC Legends of Tomorrow

Dc Legends of Tomorrow is a spin off television show that has come out of the Arrow and The Flash franchises. Essentially it combines all of the worlds and characters in a unique and funny way. There are some great elements in the show that make it interesting and there are also so boring bits in the show that make me wonder why I keep going back each week to watch it.

But there is one reason as to why I do keep going back and it is for Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold. Wentworth Miller is the actor who plays this character and if you don’t know who he is you better go and look him up and fall in love with him just like I have.

This morning as I traipsed around Facebook I found this amazing link/article from Buzzfeed:

And I fell in love once again. I can’t believe there are like minded people out there who are rooting for good old Captain Cold. His sarcasm is amazing and there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do to get the job done.

He is a once in a life time character and I think Wentworth Miller is exceptional.

Stick around…

Day 3 – Complete Series

Day 3 is about a complete book series. Well I don’t have a complete aussie YA book series but I’m close. The Tomorrow Series by John Marsden is great and the first movie they made based on the first book was also pretty great.
Well thats 2 for 2 so far,  lets see how long I can keep going.

Stick around…
